Jonathan Morin is an accomplished circus artist, innovator, and creator driven by the exploration of new possibilities within the world of circus.

With a background as an international competitive gymnast, Jonathan brought his discipline, strength, and creativity into the circus world. In 1999, he became an aerial artist with the prestigious Cirque du Soleil production Quidam, where he continued to develop his artistic vision and physical expression.

Driven by a desire to explore new forms of movement, Jonathan began developing an original apparatus in 2005 that would transform his vision into reality. This creative journey led to the birth of the Crossed Wheel, an innovative circus apparatus that opened a new dimension of performance possibilities.

Through this creation, Jonathan first developed a dynamic and powerful floor act, creating an entirely new technical and artistic language where physical challenge, powerful rotations, and spatial movement merge together.

From there, a new dream emerged: to bring the Crossed Wheel into the air. This evolution gave birth to the aerial act, where the apparatus rises above the ground to create a captivating dialogue between strength, trust, and connection.

More than an apparatus, the Crossed Wheel became a canvas for artistic expression, allowing new forms of movement and partner interaction never before explored in circus arts.

From its first conception to stages around the world, the Crossed Wheel continues to represent Jonathan’s ongoing pursuit of innovation, creativity, and the limitless possibilities of human movement and potential.

When Jonathan envisioned bringing the Crossed Wheel into the air, he had only one partner in mind: Marie-Eve.

The two artists first met while performing in Cirque du Soleil’s Quidam, where Jonathan discovered Marie-Eve’s exceptional talent on the aerial hoop, as well as the strength of mind, focus, and determination required for high-level aerial performance.

Creating an aerial duo on the Crossed Wheel required much more than technical ability. It demanded complete trust, deep connection, and a partner with the mental strength to embrace the physical and emotional challenges of such a demanding aerial discipline.

From their first collaboration, a natural chemistry emerged, giving birth to Duo 2-zen-O and to a powerful artistic story: a love story told through movement.
